Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade is much more than the “Small Channel Fish Capital of the World”! This historic village, founded in 1693, sits at the confluence of the Sainte-Anne River and the Saint Lawrence River. It takes its name from the river itself, in honour of Thomas Tarieu de La Pérade, whose son married New France’s heroine, Madeleine de Verchères.

Nicknamed the “Venice of Canada”, Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade enchants visitors with its islands, bridges and canals. In winter, the river comes to life with over 500 heated cabins set up on the ice by the Association des pourvoyeurs et pêcheurs du poisson des chenaux de la rivière Sainte-Anne. Each year, this unique experience attracts thousands of visitors.

This heritage town is also home to a rich history waiting to be discovered. Visitors can admire its church, inspired by Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal, as well as the Sainte-Anne Seignorial Estate. With delicious beverages and locally sourced products, history and nature come together for an unforgettable experience!
