Overlooking the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River, Cap-Santé is a thriving village founded in 1677 by 7 families. Remnants of this era can still be admired through a series of ancestral houses lining the Old Road, which the Globe & Mail has ranked among the most beautiful streets in Canada.
Other historic landmarks on Place de l’Église, dating back to the 18th century, can also be accessed via the King’s Road: the Église Sainte-Famille church, the presbytery, the Cap-de-la-Sainte-Famille cemetery, as well as old wells and a shaded park.
Dynamic and proud of its roots, the administrative centre of the Portneuf RCM offers breathtaking landscapes throughout the seasons, whether from its cliffs along the river or in the agricultural lands to the north of its territory. With its salmon migration passage and a myriad of attractions to explore, including L’Escale du Roy, it’s no wonder that Cap-Santé is part of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of Quebec!
