The King’s Road:

The King’s Road (Chemin du Roy) is the ideal opportunity to discover, learn and have fun exploring a heritage route built during the New France era. Travel over 280 km of history along the St. Lawrence River, driving or pedaling from Quebec City to Montreal, passing through Trois-Rivières.

Quebec From Past to Present, Still Very Much Alive!

Step back in time through Quebec’s past and present, and uncover the relics of bygone eras, brought to life by three regional tourism associations responsible for overseeing the King’s Road.

Established in the 1990s and officially designated a tourist route in 1999, the Chemin du Roy nevertheless retains its original 18th-century spelling (“Roy” with a “y”) in honour of the French monarch who commissioned its construction.
